喜訊：2008-2018年期間我所共有15篇論文入選ESI高被引論文
2019年3月25日，ESI基本科學指標數據庫（Essential Science Indicators，以下簡稱“ESI”）的數據顯示，在2008-2018年期間東北地理所共有15篇SCI論文進入全球排名前1%行列。
ESI是由世界著名的學術信息出版機構美國科技信息所（ISI）于2001年推出的衡量科學研究績效、跟蹤科學發展趨勢的基本分析評價工具，是基于科睿唯安公司旗下Web of Science（SCIE/SSCI）所收錄的全球12000多種學術期刊的1000多萬條文獻記錄而建立的計量分析數據庫。ESI已成為當今世界范圍內普遍用以評價高校、學術機構、國家/地區國際學術水平及影響力的重要評價指標工具之一。
高被引論文是根據ESI統計被引頻次排在相應學科領域前1%的論文，即指在同年度同學科領域中被引頻次排名位于全球前1%的論文。高被引論文的數量在一定程度上是一所科研單位/高校科研實力的具體體現。
